CLERMONT (formerly HS7-4314; tested as Highland) is a 2012 soybean release of The Ohio State University. Clermont is a conventional soybean variety being released due to its excellent yields and race-specific resistance to Phytophthora sojae. Field evaluations for Frogeye leaf spot also indicated a lack of leaf lesions. Clermont’s relative maturity is 3.9 and it matures approximately four days later then “Dennison”. The average height of this variety is 96 cm. The variety has white flowers,light tawny pubescence, brown pods, dull yellow seed coat, black hilum color, and indeterminate growth habit.
