FG10-313; Solanum lycopersicum L.; TomatoA new breed of the tomato plant. FG10-313 is a tomato hybrid with high tetra-cis-lycopene due to a combination of naturally occurring mutations in the carotenoid isomerase (CRTISO) “tangerine” gene. FG10-313 needs a stronger effort than conventional tomatoes to market the unique characteristics of the tangerine hybrid. FG10-313 is also not suitable for the standard “processing tomato” market, since it has a higher cull percentage. The hybrid is slightly larger than conventional varieties, so it can be used for private gardens for fresh-consumption.
